1024 Points to Make a Hypercube, 2004
This series is based on five-dimensional geometry and well as John Baldessari’s piece, “Throwing 4 balls into the air to get a perfect square”. Creating a hypercube in 4 dimensions using tiny bits is an impossibility, but creates amazing patterns by chance, maybe referencing quantum physics. My intent was not to actually create a realistic representation of a hypercube, but instead to play with the impossible and intersect my interests in art and science.
